Springfield Roller Derby hosting the second annual Show Me Skate Invitational Tournament July 5-7

Springfield, MO - June 4, 2024 - Springfield Roller Derby (SRD) will host the second annual Show Me Skate Invitational Tournament July 5-7, 2024 at the Jordan Valley Ice Park.
The three-day roller derby event will bring together eight Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) chartered teams throughout the greater midwest region for a 12-game tournament.
Participating teams include:
- Springfield Roller Derby All Stars (Springfield, MO)
- Kansas City Roller Warriors All Stars (Kansas City, MO)
- Capital City Crushers (Topeka, KS)
- Confluence Crush Roller Derby (St. Louis/Metro East, IL)
- CoMo Roller Derby (Columbia, MO)
- Natural State Roller Derby (Fayetteville, AR)
- Twister City Roller Derby Tornado Alley (Oklahoma City, OK)
- Fountain City Roller Derby (Kansas City, MO)
The 2024 Show Show Me Skate will also host an open-gender roller derby mashup game on the second day of the tournament. Attendees can expect fast-paced action, bone-jarring hits, and nail-biting finishes as these talented athletes compete to be the 2024 Show Me Skate champion, showcasing their agility, strategy, and determination on the track.
Additionally, attendees can enjoy off track games and photo opportunities. Guests may purchase team merchandise, concessions, and beverages. Several of SRD’s 2024 season sponsors will be in attendance. Vendor tables are available for purchase by organizations and businesses in the Springfield area.
“We were overwhelmed by the positive response we received from last year’s tournament, so we’re excited to go even bigger for the next one,” said Head Coach, Suzanne Cantrell also known as Psycho Suzie.
“We can’t wait to show Springfield and the roller derby community how much we’ve grown since rebuilding after the pandemic,” said President, Tristan Colvard also known as #17 The Spread Eagle.
“SRD’s culture is all about making everyone feel like they belong, so we’re excited to extend that hospitality to visiting skaters and fans.”
Show-Me Skate tickets are available for purchase online, with options for single day passes or full weekend passes.

- Saturday, July 6 - 8 a.m. doors, 9 a.m. first whistle
- Sunday, July 7 - 8 a.m. doors, 9 a.m. first whistle

Tickets: $10 for a single day pass. $25 for a full weekend pass. Full weekend passes are available online until July 1 with the option to pre-order a limited-edition t-shirt until June 15. A limited number of single day passes and full weekend passes will also be available at the door.
